Senior Specialist, Communication and Outreach - Professional Development Program, Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism (Grant Position)

Reports to:Associate Director, Professional Development

Purpose:The job holder will develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for the professional development program. He/she will create awareness about the offered programs among stakeholders and in the community as well as organize the program’s events and manage the production of its print and digital communications.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy in line with AUC’s policies and regulations under the supervision of the associate director, securing effective print, digital marketing and social media channels for the entire program
  • Manage the implementation of a social media campaign to convey the program outcomes to its constituencies, and effectively support its goals and activities
  • Plan, coordinate and execute the content development and production of program brochures and videos, press releases and website
  • Design and execute online/social media marketing campaigns to promote the program and its activities within the community and among program stakeholders through LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and other social media networks
  • Shoot, edit and produce video components related to the offered courses or used for promotion
  • Contribute to graphic design work to support the program’s marketing communications, adhering to the AUC branding guidelines
  • Organize various events of the program
  • Ensure the production of communications material and effective media campaigns as relevant to each event
  • Contribute to the annual reports as needed
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned


Minimum education requirement:  

  • BA in mass communication or related fields


  • Five to seven years of experience preferred in related areas


  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic is a must
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Experience in managing social media campaigns with good writing and editorial skills
  • Excellent editorial skills and familiarity with AP style guides
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and assume responsibility for the program’s marketing communication campaigns
  • Professional-level skills in publications development
  • Professional-level skills in shooting and editing
  • Skilled in graphic design and web content management
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented work style
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines
