Postdoc(s) positions on Waterborne Coatings Technology

Updated: about 2 years ago
Deadline: The position may have been removed or expired!

Do you want to challenge the limits of waterborne coatings technologies for heavy-duty purposes?

If you have a PhD in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or materials science, and you would like to challenge and improve waterborne coatings technologies for heavy-duty purposes towards a higher sustainability profile, this might be a job for you.

At DTU CoaST Research Centre, we support development, production and use of high performance organic coatings. Working along the whole value chain, our research activities cover organic, polymer based coating technologies from raw materials over formulation, test and characterization to production and application. You will contribute to the development of our expertise within waterborne heavy-duty coatings, and you will have the opportunity to make a personal impact on solving some of the most critical challenges these coatings are facing.

CoaST has the aim to improve the sustainability profile of heavy-duty coatings for example by reducing the use of unwanted substances, facilitating the use of renewable raw materials, improving formulation and test methods using mathematical modelling as well as focus on the invention of new types of coatings technology with superior performance or functionality.

We offer a rewarding and challenging job in an international environment. We strive for academic excellence in an environment characterized by collegial respect and academic freedom tempered by responsibility.

Coatings for a better future – the job
Your focus will be to start and drive projects on waterborne heavy-duty coatings in cooperation with our faculty members; working towards solutions to the big challenges which waterborne heavy-duty coatings are presently facing such as improvement of the surface tolerance properties and enhancement of the anticorrosive performance. You will have a very high influence on the projects you and CoaST involve in.

As a postdoc at CoaST you will be expected to contribute to the general growth of CoaST in a positive, friendly and open minded way by supervising students, participating in group meetings, driving your field forward and disseminating your results amongst others.

Your workplace is DTU’s main campus in Kgs. Lyngby, Copenhagen.

About you
We are looking for two ambitious and visionary postdocs who thrive on turning exiting challenges into solutions based on curiosity and an open mind for entering new paths when necessary. You have a natural flair for driving things forward on you own, and you like to create results based on knowledge sharing and positive teamwork. Working with waterborne coatings is not new to you.

The CoaST group – your new team
DTU is a leading technical university globally recognized for the excellence of its research, education, innovation and scientific advice. At CoaST, you will join a highly ambitious young research team under continuous development and establishment. Presently, our group consists of nearly 30 PhD students, Postdocs and researchers, and, with faculty members, our technical team and administration, the CoaST group counts a little more than 40 people. With more than 12 nationalities, our working environment is international and intercultural. Our working language is English, but knowledge of Danish is beneficial - if not from the start then later on.
