We are searching for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to undertake studies of cellular mechanisms in plants attacked by the barley powdery mildew fungus. We have many years of experience in research on plant immunity and powdery mildew susceptibility processes. We have in particular focus on membrane trafficking and other membrane associated processes connected to immunity and fungal exploitation of the plant cell, and we study how these processes are influenced by fungal effectors.
Based on a grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation, we have within this area designed a project, which involve overlapping analyses of barley and di-cot plants that are host and non-host to the fungus, respectively. You will use fungal effectors to search for specific molecular and cellular mechanisms to uncover their role in plant immunity. You will be part of our highly experienced research team of about 15 people, all sharing interest in your project.
