PhD Scholarship in Mammalian Lipid Metabolism and Metabolomics

Are you interested in mammalian lipid metabolism, in vivo perfusion techniques and metabolomics incl. spatial metabolomics to understand the function of dermal adipose tissue? A three-year PhD scholarship in molecular metabolism and metabolomics is available from 1 September 2023 at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). Application deadline: 27 June 2023.

Outstanding candidates with a strong background in mammalian metabolism and molecular biology applied on mice and mammalian cell cultures are invited to apply. The successful candidate should have an MSc degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedicine or similar. Applicants must have a strong experimental background in molecular metabolism and be able to handle mice and mammalian cell cultures. The candidate must have high intrinsic motivation and capacity for independent work, and excellent communication skills and proficiency in spoken and written English.

Application, salary etc.
Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Please check links for more information on salary  and taxation .

The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Programme at the Universities (PhD order).
