PhD Fellowship in Health Psychology/Social Psychology/Behavioural Health Economics at the Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen, Denmark

Applications are invited for a PhD fellowship (three years) at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. The PhD student will be part of an international research group investigating structural and psychological determinants as well as behavioural interventions related to vaccination behaviour and antibiotics intake. The project aims to utilize ‘economic games’ in online and lab experiments to investigate social interactions in health behaviour. Funding for conducting experiments as well as for conference visits is available. The principal investigator of the project and the PhD supervisor is Robert Böhm, Professor in Applied Social Psychology and Behavioural Science (from October 2019) at the Department of Psychology. Employment of the PhD student preferably starts in November/December 2019 or shortly thereafter.

Applicants should have studied Psychology, Economics, or a closely related subject, and must have completed a Master degree education before starting the employment. The candidate should be experienced with (or willing to learn) conducting interactive behavioural experiments using oTree or similar software solutions. Knowledge in health psychology/economics, game theory, and statistical analyses using R is desirable. It is not a requirement to understand, speak, or learn Danish.

The chosen candidate will be enrolled as PhD student at the Faculty of Social Sciences (see the rules of the Danish Ministerial order No 1039 of August 27th 2013), completing the PhD program as a three year full-time study within the framework of the 5+3 study program (see ). PhD students are paid a salary in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC); the exact salary depends on several factors (e.g., chosen pension scheme), but can be expected to be around 17,500 DKK net/month (or around 19,500 DKK/month including pension savings). As part of the PhD, PhD students have a work obligation without additional pay, which is typically covered by teaching two seminars within the entire 3-year period (i.e., not two seminars per term).
