Taxation strongly influences the society as a whole as well as its individual actors, such as businesses. In other words, if appropriately used, taxation is a strong tool in trying to push necessary societal transformations. In recent years, more demand has been put for research in responsible tax, which is the idea that tax, rather than pure compliance with law, also should be approached from the viewpoint of all stakeholders and the role it plays in society.
By announcing a PhD position in tax law, the Department wishes to strengthen its research capacity within this legal field. The candidate should have a relevant academic background in law, commercial law or auditing and should have strong analytical and legal dogmatic skills. It will be considered an advantage if the candidate already has knowledge on Danish tax law and the Danish language. We seek research proposals addressing one or several of the following themes:
- Tax law as a tool to steer the green transformation
- Tax law and corporate social responsibility (responsible tax)
- Danish tax law
- International tax law
- Comparative tax law
- EU tax law

CBS welcomes applications that include an element of co-financing, which could for instance be in the shape of a partnership with one or several private or public organisations sharing an interest in the topic – in the spirit of the Danish Industrial PhD scheme. It should, however, be stressed that co-financing is not a requirement. Successful applications are solely selected based on the excellence and relevance of the proposals submitted and the qualifications and potential of the applicants.
