The Department of Engineering at Aarhus University announces 2 PhD positions on advanced oxidation and toxicity of micropollutants.

Engineering Carbonaceous phOto-REgenerable Materials (CORE-M) for photodegradation of micropollutants

The PhD candidate will develop recyclable composite materials that combine carbonaceous adsorbents with cutting-edge photocatalysts and investigate their unprecedented synergistic advantages over conventional methods for removing micropollutants.

Profiling the degradation and toxicity of short-chain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)

The PhD candidate will investigate the potential of advanced oxidation processes to degrade short-chain PFAS. The candidate will combine techniques from analytical chemistry (LC-MS) and environmental toxicology (bioassays) to investigate and mediate the formation of potentially harmful transformation products.

The place of work will be in the Centre for Water Technology (WATEC) and Department of Engineering. The WATEC team is a recently started group within the strongly growing and highly dynamic Department of Engineering, located in the vibrant student-city of Aarhus.
