For the analysis of GC/LC-MS data, we are looking for an experienced researcher able to take the lead of a small group and establish a research program in close collaboration with the experimental laboratories of RECETOX.
RECETOX, one of the major research centres of the Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, is focused on the research and education in the interdisciplinary field of Exposomics and Health, with a special emphasis on translational bioinformatics for oncology http://bioinfo.recetox.muni.cz . The Bioinformatics in Exposomics group of RECETOX, consisting of engineers, mathematical biologists, bioinformaticians and statisticians, is responsible for the development of methods in the analysis of data from targeted and non-targeted multi-omics experiments, applied multi-omics data analysis from cancer studies, longitudinal exposome studies, and data analysis for support of state-of-the-art infrastructure laboratories of RECETOX.
Profile of the candidate
A Ph.D. in the field of mass spectrometry data analysis;
Strong background in signal processing with a proven track record in the development of methods for mass spectrometry data analysis;
At least three methodological journal papers as the first author in high impact journals;
Good command of at least two programming languages from R, Python, C/C++, Fortran, Matlab;
Ability to conceive a long term research plan, prioritize tasks, delegate and supervise the work in order to successfully implement it;
Good communication skills and team leader qualities;
Proficiency in English.
