A PhD student position is available in the Department of Molecular Biology and Radiobiology at Mendel University in Brno under the supervision of Dr Pavel Kerchev. The project is funded by a recently awarded grant from the Czech Science Foundation and will be executed in close collaboration with the group of Dr Michael Wrzaczek at the Institute of Plant Molecular Biology, Czech Academy of Sciences and the Van Breusegem lab at the VIB-UGent Center for Plant Systems Biology, Belgium.
The project will investigate how redox regulation impacts the epigenetic landscape in response to environmental stimuli in plants. The successful candidate will use a multidisciplinary approach combining proteomics, metabolomics, transcriptomics, and a diverse range of molecular biology tools.
We offer
- Training in state-of-the-art mass spectrometry for proteomics and metabolomics
- Stimulating and supportive international environment
- Competitive PhD fellowship and possibility to apply for additional funding via internal grant schemes
Access to a broad network of world-class researchers with opportunities to learn and travel
Opportunity to guide Master and Bachelor students
- A high standard of living without high costs in Brno which is often ranked in the top ten student cities in the world
