EMPLOYMENT TERMS

For the Special Scientist/Phd position the employment will be for a period of up to one year, with the possibility of renewal until the completion of the PhD studies, based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding resources. The University will cover the monthly amount up to €1,000. Candidates for this position will have to meet the qualifications for admission to the doctoral program of the Department in finance and accounting. For the other special scientist position, candidates with a Phd degree could be remunerated with up to €1,200 for a full time employment. From the monthly earnings, employer’s and employees' contributions will be deducted. The program does not provide 13th salary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least an MSc. degree in Finance or Accounting or Economics or Mathematics/Statistics or Computer Science or Engineering or in any related field (or to obtain the M.Sc degree before the deadline of this application).
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Very good knowledge and use of statistical or econometric methods and programming (e.g. SAS, SPSS, STATA, EViews, R, Matlab, Python, C++) and related software.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of Prof. Irene Karamanou and Andreas Charitou. The selected candidate is expected to have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Promoting the actions required by the program.
  • Preparing the required program-related reports.
  • Any other relevant work that the Program Coordinator will assign to the Special Scientist
