In addition to the general requirements prescribed by the Labour Act, applicants are required to meet the following conditions set in : Article 97 of the Scientific Activity and Higher Education Act (Official Gazette 123/03, 198/03, 105/04, 174/04, 2/07.- Decision of the Croatian Constitutional Court, 46/07, 45/09, 63/11, 94/13, 139/13, 101/14. - Decision of the Croatian Constitutional Court, 60/15.- Decision of the Croatian Constitutional Court and 131/17.)), as well as the conditions laid down in Article 196 of the Statute of J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek -consolidated text , Article 115 of the Statute of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences-consolidated text, as well as the special conditions laid out in Article 41 of the J.J. Strossmayer Book of Regulations on the Procedure of (Re)appointment to Academic Ranks and Corresponding Positions.

Applicants must submit the required documentation in accordance with the appropriate form (Form No 4) available on the Faculty's website ( napredovanja nastavnika/Pravilnici).

In addition to the obligatory criteria, applicants are required to submit proof of the following: MA-level degree (meeting a minimum of 120 ECTS)

2. a transcript of grades won at previous levels of education (BA, MA) showing a grade avarage, sufficient for enrollment in a PhD programme

Extra points will be awarded for

1) awards won for academic exellence and exellence in research

2) participation in scholarly activities and research, published papers, conference talks in the field of Literary Theory and History

3) a University degree in English Language and Literature and German Language and Literature (special advantage is awarded to applicants holding both degrees)

Foreign applicants are required to submit proof of command of the Croatian language in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (B1). If selected, the applicant must have her/his diploma nostrified. If the applicant has the right of advantage pursuant to law, s/he is required to appeal to the appropriate act in the application, and submit appropriate legal documents supporting the claim, as well as proof issued by the Croatian Employment Office acknowledging the status of an unemployed person and outlining the terms of contract cancellation for previous employment. Advantage in the application process is claimed only under equal terms.
