We are looking for a Technical Advisor, specializing in Microsoft Dynamics and the Power Platform, to support our enterprise Client Relationship Management (CRM) application. The Technical Advisor would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

 

We are looking to hire a Technical Advisor that brings an enthusiasm for building solutions that are forward thinking with considerations for re-use, maintainability and extensibility. The incumbent is someone to provide expert advice, research, analysis, development and design of applications and related strategies. This includes client-facing portals and DevOps processes, plus key activities:

 

 

  • Provides specialized advice to internal project teams and work units on technical solutions and standards to adapt and support the design, development, testing, implementation, integration, maintenance and support of IT applications.
  • Advises and guides business clients on technical applications issues, and provides expertise and analysis to facilitate client understanding, involvement and acceptance of the design, development, testing and delivery, installation, integration and maintenance of IT applications.
  • Conducts feasibility studies, develops and designs research, recommends various alternatives for IT applications development and presents options to support decision making and to address client requirements.
  • Provides technical direction to working groups and periodically leads project teams composed of technical staff.
  • Develops IT solutions within Dynamics/Power Platform and associated technologies; this can include:

 

o    Configuring entities, forms, views, and security permissions in Dynamics CRM 365, based on business requirements.
o    Creating workflows, business processes and rules, as well as custom form scripts that leverage the client-side Javascript libraries.
o    Extending Dynamics CRM including developing server-side plugins, workflows and processes using the Dynamics SDK and .NET; experience with a Grants and Contributions implementation would be an asset.
o    Integrating a public facing portal using Microsoft Power Pages.

Education

Bachelor degree in Computer Science from a recognized University.

 

A Technical College diploma in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and direct experience may be considered.

Experience
  • Significant experience using software development methodologies, including SCRUM, plus experience with various source control methods.
  • Significant experience working with Dynamics CRM 365; this includes configuring entities, forms, views, and security permissions based on business requirements and creating workflows, business processes and rules, as well as custom form scripts that leverage the client-side Javascript libraries.
  • Basic experience extending Dynamics CRM including developing server-side plugins, workflows and processes using the Dynamics SDK and .NET
  • Basic experience developing Power Pages compliant with Government of Canada Web Standards, i.e. WET and Canada.ca theme.
  • Experience working in an agile environment using Azure DevOps
  • Experience working with other Microsoft Power Platform Apps and Services would be considered an asset.

  • Solid knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum and/or LEAN.
  • Solid knowledge of out-of-the-box Microsoft Dynamics CRM entities and common third-party utilities and add-ons. 
  • Solid ability to develop in C#/.NET using object oriented best practices, including source integration with git following industry branching standards.
  • Basic ability to develop Power Pages compliant with Government of Canada Web Standards, i.e. WET and Canada.ca theme.
  • Basic ability to integrate Dynamics with other systems via web services or APIs, including the ability to migrate data from other data sources.
  • Advanced ability to research and analysis to recommend solutions.

    Compensation

    From $89,548 to $112,660 per annum. 

     

    An incumbent occupying a position within the CS Group is currently entitled to receive a terminable allowance of $212 per month.
