- Advise and/or mentor faculty and instructors
- Assist in faculty, curriculum, and/or program development
- Conduct a research project of the applicant’s choosing
- Conduct a research project in collaboration with the host institution
- Conduct a professional and/or artistic project
The Fulbright Visiting Chair in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) will be an accomplished scholar with expertise in any of the following areas: student success, inclusive classrooms, research as pedagogy, feedback and assessment design, student engagement, experiential learning, integration of technology with teaching, and critical pedagogy. The disciplinary background of applicants should be related to Arts and Social Sciences, Public Affairs, Entrepreneurship and/or Environmental Sciences. The Chair will be hosted in the Office of the Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) and the Discovery Centre, and will be invited to conduct innovative SoTL projects, lead seminars and workshops, and generate new opportunities for SoTL research collaborations and knowledge exchange among Carleton University’s educators. Situated in Canada’s Capital, Carleton University is recognized for its focus on excellence in teaching and research, and service to the community and society at large. Carleton University provides and outstanding context for collaborative and the creative experimentation of ideas and the Chair will collaborate and take advantage of the expertise of Carleton University’s SoTL research group, Teaching Mentors, Carleton University Chairs in Teaching Innovation, and participants in the Students as Partners Program.
Scholars who think about teaching and learning from a scholarly perspective and researches it within a disciplinary frame. (Engineering education, biology education or political science education etc…)
