Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Tropical Diseases

Post-doctoral position available in the Laboratory of Tropical Diseases at the University of Campinas (state of São Paulo, Brazil) to be part of a project on the phenotypic characterization of schizonts in the bone marrow and in the peripheral blood of infected patients.

Requirements

- Recent PhD in Biology, Medicine, Tropical Medicine, Public Health or Health Sciences;
- Expertise in research involving Tropical Diseases, especially in malaria;
- International experience in world-class laboratories;
- Availability to travel to the malaria endemic area in Amazon;
- Leadership and collaborative skills;
- Good publications record, including experience in writing of scientific reports and manuscripts independently;
- Advanced oral and written communication skills in English;
- Good training in cell culture and/or Plasmodium phenotypic assays and in vitro cultivation of this parasite;
- Knowledge in data analysis using the R Studio.

Selection process will be carried out through analysis of the applicant's documents and interviews with pre-selected candidates. The selection result will be informed by email. Activities start on September 1st, 2021.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the Sâo Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
