Post-doctoral Fellowship in Swine Nutrition

The Department of Animal Science of School of Agricultural and Veterinarian Sciences (FCAV) of São Paulo State University (UNESP) in its campus of Jaboticabal, Brazil offers a post-doctoral fellowship granted by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). The selected candidate will act in the development of the project "Precision nutrition for pigs under sanitary challenges in hot climates" (grant nº 2018/15559-7).

Activities to be carried out include:

- Develop the project “Evaluation of the physiological and metabolic responses, and growth performance of piglets submitted to different management conditions and environment”;
- Participate in the development of new methodologies that will be carried out during the project;
- Develop activities related to the project, giving support to students, contributing to adequate conduction of experiments, as well as writing support for scientific papers.

Requirements to fill the position

Candidates must have completed their PhD for less than 7 (seven) years, with a degree in Animal Science, without employment relationship, dedicate themselves exclusively to the research project, and have proven experience in research related to pig nutrition, with advanced knowledge of the English language for writing, reading, scientific presentations, proven through internship abroad. Previous experience with body composition assessment using dual-energy X-ray equipment for pigs and statistical analysis is also intended.


The scholarship is valid for 24 months, and applicants must apply by June 15, 2019. Applications must include the following documents in PDF.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
