Updated: about 2 months ago
Deadline: 09 Sep 2020

One post-doctoral position with fellowship funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) is available at the seeds laboratory in the School of Agronomic Sciences of the São Paulo State University (FCA-UNESP) in Botucatu, Brazil. The select candidate will join the FAPESP-funded Thematic Project entitled “Genetic and molecular basis of chlorophyll retention in seeds: a step forward to improve soybean adaptability to climate change“ (grant number 2017/50211-9) under supervision of Professor Edvaldo Amaral da Silva.

The selected candidate will perform experiments to a) record and compare the phylogenetic pattern of soybean genotypes using phenotyping data, as well as genotyping information by genetic sequencing; and, b) to evaluate the main chlorophyll degradation regulators in soybean seeds, in order to identify potential molecular markers for breeding selection.

Interested candidates must request the full call for proposals by email prior to registration. The result of this selection process will be published in the period from 15 to 20 September 2020.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
