Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Materials Science

Updated: about 2 months ago
Deadline: 20 May 2022

One position is open for a post-doctorate to synthesize and characterize mesoporous materials ordered by different morphologies, particle size and porosity for the incorporation of vaccinal antigens aiming at the development of oral vaccines and drugs with anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory traits.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in materials science, chemistry or other areas related to chemistry, conferred within the last five years or to be conferred soon. We are especially interested in candidates with ability to perform independent research and expertise in organic/inorganic hybrid materials and inorganic-based nanomaterials and preferably, a good understanding of characterization techniques for nanomaterials such as small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and N2 physisorption analysis.

Studies will be carried out at the Laboratory of Hybrid Materials, Chemistry Department, Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), Diadema, Brazil.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 8,479.20 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
