Post-doctoral Fellowship in Immunogenetics

One full-time post-doctoral position is available at the Laboratory Human Immunology of the Department of Immunology, ICB, University of São Paulo, Brazil. The post-doctoral fellowship will join a multidisciplinary group of researchers to develop a project inserted at study “Immunopathology, comorbidities and genetic susceptibility to Zika virus infection in humans,” supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).

In this project we aim to study the genes involved in the susceptibility to Zika virus infection in humans, in order to elucidate pathophysiological mechanisms and strategies of diagnosis and treatment.

Requirements to fill the position

Applicants should have a demonstrated record of significant scientific accomplishment in PhD and/or post-doctoral level. Expertise in the area of molecular biology and a background in genetics and immunology is preferred. Moreover, proven experience by scientific publication in genetics and analysis of NGS data (preferably WES), RNAseq, and bioinformatics experience is a plus.

Candidate’s profile

The candidate must present initiative, independence and self-motivation in the research, as well as advanced knowledge in English. The experience in different laboratories (national or international) during the scientific training is a positive aspect to be considered in selection process.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
