Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Collective Housing Projects

The selected candidate will conduct a collaborative study with researchers from the “Critical Thinking and Contemporary City (PC3)” group at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAU-USP) in Brazil (see more info at ).

The aim of this research project is to map and analyze collective housing projects in the Brazilian background that present alternative solutions for housing, in view of the historically segregation trend in the country. This study should point towards new perspectives and disciplinary paradigms for understanding and intervening in current Brazilian cities and the so-called "global south", contributing to the improvement of housing architecture and its urban spaces.

The candidate is expected to have experience of the critical analysis of architecture and urbanism projects. It is also important to have previous experience of publications in peer-reviewed indexed scientific journals.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
