Updated: almost 3 years ago
Deadline: 30 Jul 2021

A post-doctoral fellowship is available for the development of a research project, entitled “Identification of animal toxin-derived peptides with antitumor and immunomodulatory properties”, under the aegis of the the “Centre of Toxins, Immune-Response and Cell Signaling, CeTICs”, one of the Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (RIDCs, or CEPIDs in the Portuguese acronym) supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), with Butantan Institute as its host institution. The aim of the project is to identify peptides derived from animal venoms with antitumor and immunomodulatory potential, evaluated in models of cutaneous melanoma and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.

Candidates must have Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Pharmacology or related disciplines. Experience required: cell culture (preferably from tumor cells), cell signaling, cellular proliferation and differentiation assays, molecular biology.

Experience in compound purification / identification, in silico techniques for evaluation/prediction of drug-receptor interaction, and animal handling and behavior is recommended.

Advanced level of the English language is required. Academic competitiveness and willingness to collaborate internally and externally with the research group will be considered.

To participate, please send 1) motivation letter describing achievements and previous experience, as well as interest in the project topic, 2) complete CV, and 3) indication of 2 professionals as reference, in an email entitled 'PD-LEDS / CEPID' to: [email protected] .

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
