Post-doctoral Fellowship in Bioinformatics

A post-doctoral position in bioinformatics focused on image recognition approaches applied to medical images at the Computational Systems Biology Laboratory at the University of São Paulo (main campus), Brazil.

You will supervised by Prof. Helder T. I. Nakaya ( ) in his dynamic multidisciplinary group of researchers.

Responsibilities: develop software, tools, algorithms, and scripts for image recognition; perform analysis and lead analysts through developed protocols.

Requirements: Ph.D. in bioinformatics, relevant biological discipline, engineering, or in computer science; experience with bioinformatic tools, databases, machine and deep learning methods for image recognition, and programming languages; must be independent and attentive to detail, have excellent leadership, organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Highly desirable: experience in teaching, research novelty, project management, wet lab molecular biology. Strong quantitative or statistical background is a plus. Candidates from any nationality can apply.

The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
