We offer a full-time position in the KU Leuven Neuro-and Psychophysiology lab. The research team consists of one PI, several PhD students and technical staff members, is primarily focused on translational neuroscience research in human and nonhuman primates. The research team is part of the Laboratory for Neuro- and Psychophysiology with 5 PIs and more than 40 members. The KU Leuven is located at the heart of Europe, only 15 km from Brussels, and is ranked as the number 1 European university for innovation. We are seeking a highly-motivated scientist holding a PhD degree for a new project on the neural basis of noninvasive neuromodulation in the Laboratory for Neuro- and Psychophysiology at KU Leuven. Experience in training and single-cell recordings in nonhuman primates is necessary.

The project involves single-cell recordings during various types of brain stimulation, and is part of a larger collaborative and interdisciplinary research program aimed at investigating the potential of noninvasive brain stimulation in the treatment and prevention of neurodegenerative disease. The consortium at KU Leuven consists of neurophysiologists, psychiatrists, neurosurgeons and electrical engineers.


The candidate must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills, a strong research track record, be familiar with statistical analyses in Matlab, able to work in a team, and have experience in single-cell recordings in awake behaving nonhuman primates.
