Job content
The Quantum Photonics (QP) research group at the Institute for Materials Research (IMO) provides an opportunity to conduct advanced research in experimental quantum physics in the field of color centers in diamond. The goal of the doctoral research is to carry out an in-depth characterization of color centers in diamond (NV,SiV and GeV  centres)to be used as hybride spin qubits for quantum applications.
You will develop a novel qubit driving based on spin-charge interactions with the goal of constructing small quantum processors with single qubits. The PhD is carried in collaboration with University of Antwerp and European academic research groups.
Profile
  • You have obtained a Master in in physics or engineering sciences in the direction of quantum optics or quantum or solid state physics (or equivalent)
  • You clearly have a demonstrated interest in quantum physics and quantum experiments.
  • You are fundamentally science oriented.
  • You are cooperative and can work well in teams.
  • You are able to report clearly and regularly.
Offer
You will be appointed and paid as PhD student .
You will be appointed for 2 x 2 years after positive evaluation.
Selection procedure
