Job content
The Quantum Photonics (QP) research group at the Institute for Materials Research (IMO) offers an opportunity to conduct an advanced interdisciplinary research on the border of experimental quantum physics and biology, in the field of quantum detection and metrology using nanodiamond particles with NV color centers.
The goal of the PhD research is a develop temperature sensing where nanodiamond probe is placed in a biological cell to study biological processes in the ion channel. Moreover, by using this methodology, we are also going to study readout of action potential of neural cells, for which nanadiamond particle will be placed on the cell membrane. Our research is focused to approach high impact applications in biology and medicine.
