Job description
This PhD position is situated within the field of pharmacoepidemiology (Department of Bioanalysis, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences) of Ghent University located at Campus Heymans (Ottergemsesteenweg 460). Our research group focuses on therapy adherence and precision medicine including optimizing the benefit risk ratio of approved drugs by studying heterogeneity among phenotypes, endotypes and underlying genetics with the ultimate goal of improving care of patients with chronic complex diseases. You will have the opportunity to work within an international collaboration and explore more specifically, lung function trajectories, biomarkers and treatment responses by biostatistical methods.
Profile of the candidate
- You are interested in population health research, precision medicine and chronic respiratory diseases.
- You have experience with statistical data processing demonstrated by statistical training and a master thesis (or publication) in pharmaceutical care, clinical pharmacy or medicine using statistical methods to investigate drug use or determinants of a chronic complex disease.
- You have the necessary social skills, flexibility and critical thinking to function in a multidisciplinary and international academic environment. Competency of English (very well reading, writing, and speaking) is required within the international collaborations. Dutch (reading, writing, speaking) is recommended.
- You have an independent, problem-solving, organized and result-oriented attitude.
