Project

PhD project on ‘Stimulating creativity in partnerships between innovative companies: the role of contracts’.

Collaborative cooperation between innovative companies gives independent partners the chance to collaborate intensively. It allows them to exchange the required resources, including proprietary knowledge. In this project, we investigate how such partnerships are set up contract-wise, how they are managed, and which steering mechanisms (management controls) increase the chance for successful creative collaborations. We will pay attention to how the contract is shaped, but also to how it is then used for managing the partnership and to make sure that creativity is stimulated.

Profile

We look for motivated graduated master students with excellent study results, who are enthusiastic to become a specialist in this topic, and who would enjoy to cooperate with experts from practice for their research. There are various potential research tracks: contracts can be analyzed using Natural Language Processing (NLP), but also other company information can be investigated. Survey research and experiments can also be considered.

Offer

We offer a full time position for a PhD student, starting in September 2021, for four years (yearly evaluation and renewal). The program includes postgraduate courses to build research skills and mentoring and collaboration with experienced researchers.

Our PhD students form an enthusiastic group of young researchers, who get the chance to present their work at national and international conferences. We also support a research visit at a renowned university abroad for a short or longer period.
