The Faculty of Engineering, Department Wiskunde en Data Science, is looking for a PhD-student with a doctoral grant. 

More concretely your work package, for the preparation of a doctorate, contains: 

Teaching
The assignment also includes help with coordinating and supervising exercises, practicals and projects (WPO) for course units within the degree program(s) Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering-Architecture. The concrete assignment is determined annually in consultation with you. Dutch is the official language for this WPO. 


Research
You will conduct research in pure or applied mathematics, preferably on a subject that ties in with the expertise of one of the two research groups within the WIDS department, namely ALAN (Algebra and Analysis) and DIMA (Digital Mathematics). This research will focus on obtaining a PhD. 

Other
You will be involved in actions to promote the training offered by the department (e.g. attendance at information days or supervising spring or autumn camps) and may contribute to the day-to-day management of the department by participating in councils and/or committees.

For this function, our Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus (Elsene) will serve as your home base.
