Updated: over 2 years ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 01 Dec 2021

A fellowship is available in the Cancer Translational Research Lab (Institut de recherche expérimentale et clinique, Brussels, Belgium) for a PhD thesis in oncology. The candidate will be directly supervised by experienced scientists in the lab and a local PhD thesis committee.

PhD Project: Dissecting the interplay between lipid metabolism and biological clock to optimize cancer chronotherapy.

Context: Disruption of the circadian clock by mistimed exposure to light, food intake, or genetic mutation has been recently proven to be associated with cancer risk, growth and progression, offering new perspectives for cancer management through the so-called chronotherapy. However, the underlying mechanism explaining the link between markedly increased cancer development and chronodisruption has remained elusive.
