More concretely your work package, for the preparation of a doctorate, contains: 

You will become an active member of the research project “Gender Empowerment Through Politics in Classrooms” (G-EPIC).

The G-EPIC project

The G-EPIC project explores the intersection of disadvantages at the core of gender inequality in political participation. For this purpose, the project aims to conduct research in secondary schools by means of statistical research, observations, quasi-experiments and the construction of didactic materials, in order to identify successful classroom teaching practices that support the development of pupils' confidence in their own opinions and future civic engagement.

The project offers a stimulating working environment in a dynamic and international research team. Project partners: Aarhus University in Denmark, Charles University in Czechia, Gender Five Plus in Belgium, Justus Liebig University Giessen in Germany, Roehampton University in the UK, University Carlos III of Madrid in Spain. The coordination of the project lies at the VUB.

You will be based at the VUB Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus (Elsene, Brussels). You are expected to contribute to collective work on the project (data collection & analyses, reports, meetings), and to present and publish individual or collective research outputs.You will have no teaching obligations but will be allowed to engage in a limited amount of teaching if this is judged appropriate for your academic development.
