University Assistant / Postdoc Position (m/f/d) in the fields of Molecular Biology

The Institute of Molecular Biotechnology, Graz University of Technology has an open position limited for 5 years:

University Assistant / Postdoc Position (m/f/d) in the fields of Molecular Biology

40 hours / week, beginning February 1st 2022

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Management and preparation of laboratory tests in the molecular biology course, as well as participation in the supervision of students in internships
• Courses and correction of written examination papers and examination supervision
• Co-supervision of students during their theses
• Studies on enzyme engineering and biocatalysis in research and teaching
• Documentation of results and presentations in the form of reports, specialist publications and conference contributions
• Support for general institute operations as well as guidance of technical staff in general institute tasks
• Support in the management of the working group Biocatalysis and Enzyme Engineering

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Applicants must hold a doctorate degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology or a comparable field of life sciences.
• Advanced knowledge of biochemistry, molecular biology as well as microbiology and chemistry, in particular enzyme catalysis, multi-enzyme cascade reactions, enzyme engineering and directed evolution.

We offer an annual gross salary on a full-time basis of at least € 55.242,60, overpayment possible depending on qualifications and experience.
