University Assistant (PhD position)

University Assistant (PhD position, 19 hours/week), Department of Zoology, as soon as possible up to 01.11.2024. Job description: In this position you are expected to write a dissertation in the field of Zoology/Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology focussing on the analysis of adult stem cells of platyhelminths in a stimulating environment using the university's infrastructure. You will hold your own lectures, tutor students and participate in administration. Required: Master degree in Zoology, Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology or related discipline. Knowledge of molecular and microscopic techniques. Experience with in situ hybridisations, RNA interference and protein-protein interactions are desirable. Highly motivated and creative candidates are team players, communicative, show independence and willingness for research stays in collaborating labs in Austria and abroad. Command of the English and German language, or willingness to acquire German in a reasonable time is desirable. It is advised to include a letter describing motivation and a PhD concept (max. 5 pages).
