University Assistant (PhD position)

In this position you are expected to write a dissertation in Hispanic Literatures and Cultures (preferred Latin American Literatures and Cultures) in a stimulating environment using the university's infrastructure. You will hold your own lectures, tutor students and participate in administration. 50% of the working time is reserved for the thesis. You will start part-time (50%), once the dissertation contract concluded, the part-time will be extended to 75%.Required qualification: degree in Hispanic Studies (MA or corresponding degree) or in another subject (Comparative Literature, Theatre Studies, Cultural Studies) with a clear focus on the field of Spanish-language literatures and cultures; graduation with at least good grades; qualified dissertation project in the field of Hispanic literary studies (preferably Latin American studies), a 2-3 page synopsis must be enclosed with the application documents; excellent knowledge of Spanish (C1); very good knowledge of German (C1); ability to work in a team; ability to work independently; communicative skills; university teaching experience desired.
