Applications are invited for the temporary position as a Research Assistant within the Institute of Forest Engineering, Department of Forest and Soil Sciences, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.

The Institute of Forest Engineering is one of Europe's leading institutions in the field of Forest Engineering and has a strong focus on steep terrain timber harvesting operations.

A temporary position (30h/week) is offered. Work tasks include independent execution and analysis of scientific experiments with a focus on digitalisation in forest engineering, writing of scientific publications and presenting of results at international conferences as well as lecturing and administrative duties. Applicants are expected to complete a PhD within the position's timeframe.

A forestry/forest sciences or comparable master degree and sound knowledge in the fields of forest opening, timber harvesting and ergonomics as well as fluency in German and English are mandatory. Applicants strengths include interest in scientific research, didactical skills, the ability to communicate and work as part of a team, practical experience in conducting experiments in forest engineering and sound statistical and operations research skills.

Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1, € 2.228,60
