Postdoc Position (f*m)

(full time, 40h per week)

in the Quantum Foundations and Quantum Information Theory research group led by Prof. Caslav Brukner.

The Brukner group´s research interest focuses on the role to gain insight into quantum foundations and quantum information by exploiting operational and information-theoretic approaches. Furthermore, the research focus has recently also applied them to the field of causality and gravity.

Now the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI-Vienna) in Vienna is offering a Senior Postdoc position to a highly motivated and well-qualified scientist to work in the field of Quantum Foundations and Quantum Information Theory.

Your task:

  • Theoretical research at the interface of quantum foundations and quantum information theory
  • Supporting the group leader in preparing project proposals
  • Being involved in various administrative tasks such as supervision of students

Your profile:

  • PhD in quantum physics
  • Ideally experience in supervising students and writing project proposals
  • Experience in quantum foundations
  • Experience in operational and quantum information-theoretic approaches

We offer an annual gross salary of € 55.242,60 (full time based, before taxes) according to the salary scheme of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF ). Depending on qualification and experience, the salary can be negotiated.
