PhD position in Graz / Austria for 30 hours a week

 

That’s the project

This project focuses on understanding the roles of new microbial agents for one health, and on the development of novel products for disease treatments using integrative multi-omics approaches. Therefore, the Graz University of Technology in cooperation with the Austrian Center of Industrial Biotechnology offers a fully funded PhD position. The position is affiliated with the Institute of Environmental Biotechnology (https://www.tugraz.at/institute/ubt ) led by Gabriele Berg and connected with acib GmbH.

That’s important to us

In the best way you have completed a Master’s degree or Diploma for a recognized University in microbiology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related disciplines. Research experiences in a microbiology/biotechnology laboratory would be fine. Furthermore, we are looking for:

• Knowledge of next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, and statistics.
• Proficiency in high-throughput data management and multi-omics data integration.
• Good written and oral communication skills in English.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

You should enjoy the work in an international interdisciplinary environment.

 

That’s what you should know

• The annual gross salary is EUR 37,500. This corresponds to a monthly net amount of EUR 1,970 (paid 14 times a year).
• Start: 1st of June 2024
