The Institute for Algebra at Johannes Kepler Universität, located in Linz, Austria, is offering a PhD Student Position in Algebra and Discrete Mathematics (part-time, 30 hrs per week), for a duration of 3 years, starting on approximately June 1, 2024.


The position is within the framework of the FWF-funded project “The Elekes-Szabó Problem” led by Dr. Oliver Roche-Newton and Dr. Audie Warren. The hired person should work on problems in the fields of Additive Combinatorics, Discrete Geometry, and related areas.


Your profile:

    • Strong background in Discrete Mathematics and Algebra.

    • Masters degree in mathematics.

    • English skills mandatory.
