Duration of employment: 4 years

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement : §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:

Accomplishment of research projects in the area of bio(in)organic chemistry mainly focused on the synthesis of (metal-based) tumor-inhibiting compounds and analytical investigations in biological relevant media. Furthermore the candidate will have to teach courses independently to the extent specified in the collective agreement. Participation in research projects / research studies, participation in publications / academic articles / presentations. We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months. Supervision of students, involvement in the organisation of meetings, conferences, symposiums, involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration.

Profile:

MSc degree in chemistry, preferably in inorganic chemistry. Experience in the field of synthetic chemistry, especially the synthesis and characterisation of (metal-based) bioactive/anticancer compounds.

Experience in the field of NMR-spectroscopy, analytical HPLC(-MS) as well as preparative HPLC. Excellent command of German and English. Team player, experience in academic teaching. Profound verbal and written skills.

Desirable qualifications are:

- Teaching experience / experience of working with e-learning - Knowledge of university processes and structures - Experience abroad - Basic experience in research methods and academic writing.
