12 PhD fellowship positions in Ageing, Stem Cell and Drug Research within the doctoral programme "Ageing, Regeneration, and Drug Research" (ARDRE) at the University of Innsbruck
Located at the Center of Europe and in the heart of the Alps, the University of Innsbruck provides an excellent surrounding for cutting-edge research and learning. At the crossroads of European countries and scientific communities, we offer an inspiring multidisciplinary atmosphere and an outstanding international scientific network. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie doctoral programme ARDRE (Ageing, Regeneration, and Drug Research) offers 12 PhD fellowship positions for highly qualified early-stage researchers (ESR) who wish to obtain a doctoral degree with a focus on ageing research, research in stem cells and regeneration, as well as drug research at the University of Innsbruck (UIBK) in Austria.
ARDRE provides structured training in both research-relevant and professional skills by building expertise in the fields of cellular and organismal ageing mechanisms, 2) stem cell and regeneration biology and 3) drug discovery, in a well-coordinated network structure. Our mission is to transfer advanced knowledge of ageing and regeneration mechanisms, as well as innovative drug research to the next generation of scientists, and train the ESR at the highest level possible.
The University of Innsbruck offers an excellent research environment and high-level training, which benefits from a team of group leaders from nine departments contributing to teaching, co-supervision and international networking. This international scientific community will enable the PhD students to participate in short research visits and international secondments. Collaborations with various renowned research institutions exist, for example University of California at Davis (USA), Université du Luxembourg (Luxembourg), University of Barcelona (Spain), University of Leeds (UK), University of Padova (Italy), Technical University of Dresden (Germany) and University of Galway (Ireland). ARDRE fellows work in a stimulating international and interdisciplinary research environment, with an individual mentoring programme that will provide an excellent basis for a future career in academia or industry. Information on all participating groups, potential supervisors and descriptions of the suggested research topics are provided at https://www.uibk.ac.at/projects/dp-ardre/
The requested research group(s) or topic(s) should be indicated in the application. The PhD research work should preferably start between January 2020 and March 2020, or as soon as possible after.
