Unilever Australia has generously donated a significant gift for the Weis Scholarship for Higher Degree Research. This endowed scholarship supports HDR students who are working on challenging problems and new ideas in the fields of agribusiness, agriculture, food innovation and supply chains. 

Our intent is that this scholarship will support the generation of new knowledge and new ways of thinking about food and food business.


 
Value
  • A top-up stipend scholarship of $5,000 per year or;
  • A travel support scholarship of $5,000 per year

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:  

  • have completed a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours, or equivalent level; 
  • be currently enrolled in the PhD at UniSQ;
  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen;
  • be studying in one of the above listed areas, or a closely-aligned field.

 
Selection criteria

Applicants will be assessed on:

  • alignment with the scholarship priority areas
  • academic merit, previous research outputs and research experience of the applicant;
  • research track record of the proposed supervisory team;
  • quality of the research proposal.

  • Preliminary Research Thesis Topic Proposal (DOC 78KB).
  • A cover letter detailing the applicant’s preferred award (stipend scholarship or travel scholarship) including detailed reasoning and intended use of funds;
  • Education qualifications (testamur and academic transcripts for all undergraduate and postgraduate awards);
  • List of any research presentations and/or publications
  • Documentation confirming citizenship.
