The UNSW Electrical Engineering Scholarships aims to encourage and assist female students pursuing Electrical Engineering at UNSW.

By applying for the UNSW Electrical Engineering Scholarships you will be considered for the following scholarships.

Scholarship Value and Duration Program Eligibility
Ausgrid Women in Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1485)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program (up to 5 years)


Be a first year or second year full-time undergraduate study (single or double degree) in a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering offered by the School of Electrical Engineering.

Exclusions: Flexible First Year

TransGrid Women in Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1357)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program (up to 4 years)


Be a first year or second year full-time undergraduate study (single or double degree) in a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering offered by the School of Electrical Engineering.

Exclusions: Flexible First Year


Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria in addition to the program requirements listed above:
  • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident (including Humanitarian Visa Holders) or New Zealand Citizen; and
  • Be a woman, non-binary or gender-diverse student

Selection Criteria
Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
  • Academic Merit
  • Leadership skills (school, workplace or community)
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in Electrical Engineering

You must provide evidence supporting the above criteria in your online application. Please refer to the Scholarship Application Supporting Documents for a detailed list of examples.

Unanswered application questions or claims without supporting documentation will not be assessed. Late applications/supporting documentation will not be accepted.


UNSW reserves the right not to award a scholarship, where there is no applicant of sufficient merit, or if the applicant does not meet the scholarship eligibility and/or selection criteria.
