Description:

A unique scholarship opportunity is available for an outstanding PhD student to investigate the barriers to the provision of safe, cool and palatable water in remote Indigenous communities in Australia. This scholarship is funded by a gift from Mrs Margaret D Turner.


Eligibility:
  • The scholarship is offered subject to the applicant having an unconditional offer of admission or being currently enrolled in full-time studies in a PhD at the University of Sydney, and be willing to undertake research in the field of investigating the barriers to the provision of safe, cool and palatable water in remote Indigenous communities in Australia.
  • Applicants should have qualifications and/or experience in the field of public health or related disciplines and/or law.
  • Applicants must have previous academic and/or experience; including but not limited to:
    • Honours degree, and/or
    • Masters degree with a research component, and/or
    • Relevant and substantial previous research experience.

    4. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander post-graduates are encouraged to apply.


    Amount awarded:

    The Scholarship will provide a stipend allowance of $40,000 per annum for up to 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
