  • This scholarship is valued at up to $5,000 to be paid in instalments of $3,000 in semester one, and $2,000 in semester two, in the first year of study. 
  • TAP Scholarship recipients are also eligible for (subject to availability) discounted accommodation rates, see below for further details.
  • There are 72 scholarships available.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to commencing students who meet all the following criteria: 

  • Citizenship:  
    • Australian citizen, or 
    • holder of Australian permanent residency, or 
    • New Zealand citizen (must meet Australian Residence rules under section 7 of the Social Security Act 1991), or 
    • permanent humanitarian visa holder 
  • Course: any of the following: 
    • Diploma
    • Advanced Diploma
    • Associate Degree
    • Bachelor Degree
    • Bachelor Honours Degree
    • Graduate Certificate
    • Graduate Diploma
  • Study load: full-time
  • Campus: any (not available to online students)
  • Completed (or due to complete) year 12 studies in 2020
  • Parent(s) or guardian(s) had a combined income of less than $250,000 in 2019-2020 financial year (some applicants will be exempt from this requirement, for further information please refer to Students exempt from parental income limit ) 
  • The family home is located in an outer-regional, remote or very remote area and at least 90 minutes by public transport to your intended ACU campus. (see below note) 
  • Relocating to study   
  • Age: 22 years or under at the time of commencing the course.
  • Have not previously received this scholarship 


Note : The family home is the current home address of the applicant’s parent or guardianIf they do not live in the family home, it is the address the applicant was living 6 months before the start of their course.  

If unable to travel via public transport(for example for medical reasons, or lack of available public transport) the 90 minute travel requirement will not apply. The applicant will be required to provide evidence if applicable (eg a medical certificate). 



Application process

Applicants will be required to provide the following as part of the application: 

  • Evidence of outer-regional, remote or very remote address 
  • Evidence of relocation 
  • Evidence of parental income threshold of $250,000 

 


Selection process

Scholarships will be awarded to eligible applicants in order of application submission until all available payments have been exhausted.  

 


Ongoing requirements

To remain eligible for the second scholarship payment, recipients are required to maintain full-time enrolment 




Discounted accommodation offers for Tertiary Access Payment recipients 

ACU Student Accommodation  has residences in Sydney, Ballarat and Canberra, offering a variety of different accommodation options to suit your needs. Whichever you choose, you’ll have easy access to campus, shops, parks, sporting grounds, cafes and restaurants. Our Residential Life Program offers a variety of academic, social, cultural and community, health and wellbeing, and spiritual events to help you find the perfect balance between study and fun, while living independently. 

ACU understands that moving away from home to live closer to one of our campuses can be challenging. To make the choice easier, we will be providing Tertiary Access Payment recipients with a discounted accommodation option for each of our residences. In Sydney, for example, we are offering an NRAS Studio apartment with a private ensuite bathroom and a kitchenette for $265 per week (usually $365 per week) on a 12-month agreement.
