About the team

This team operates across a broad portfolio including teaching, fieldwork support, laboratory management, instrument/equipment stewardship, research training/design/optimisation and analysis, program coordination, and workshop design, manufacture and repair.

About the opportunity

You will provide technical expertise and support to staff and students for any practical activities or research. You will work across all discipline areas to set up, modify and maintain operation of specialist equipment and provide technical support to design, manufacture and assemble a diverse range of teaching and research projects in consultation with academic staff and students. You may also be required to engage with clients and parties external to the University.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

• Relevant certificate or equivalent competency
• Relevant experience at an appropriate level
• Strong interpersonal and customer focused skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email and online/internet based systems
• Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team

This position will require you fit the physical requirements of the position and some after-hours work may be required.
