The Swinburne Philanthropy and Social Impact Alumni (SPSIA) Scholarship provides support to an individual who either works within or runs/leads a purpose-driven organisation which has a focus on social impact (including but not limited to a grant-making body, charity, community organisation, community foundation, B Corp, social enterprise, social business, intermediary or consultant). 

The scholarship is to support the individual to undertake the Master of Social Impact (including a student currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of Social Impact who is intending to articulate into the Master of Social Impact).


Courses eligible

Students must be accepted to commence full-time or part-time studies in the Master of Social Impact . Or, be a current student enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of Social Impact and is intending to articulate into the Master of Social Impact.

The Master of Social Impact arms you with the skills you need to become an agent of social change through a social enterprise of your own or from inside the organisation you work for. Dig deep into the complex social, environmental and economic challenges facing business and society.


Eligibility / selection criteria

Applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  • be accepted to commence full-time or part-time studies in the Master of Social Impact. Or, be a current full-time or part-time student enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of Social Impact and is intending to articulate into the Master of Social Impact
  • work within or runs/leads a purpose-driven organisation which has a focus on social impact
  • supply information to support leadership ambition in the sector (e.g. personal statement and or letters of support)
  • provide answers to the following questions:
    • in no more than 100 words, how do you expect the Master of Social Impact will help you advance in the sector?
    • in no more than 100 words, what do you hope to achieve with your career in the social impact sector?

Value

The scholarship is valued at $8,000 for one year.
