As a Student Insights Analyst, you will be part of a small but growing team, working closely with others to support the use of data to improve the student journey. You will be supporting the Student Services leadership team, to identify trends and risks to our services ranging from student admissions right through to examinations, graduations, communications and student wellbeing and support activities.

By leveraging your skills in data analysis, you will be able to influence stakeholders by understanding their needs and expectations, to develop and communicate insights through engaging data visualisations and presentations. the language of data visualisations.  

We are looking for a Student Insights Analyst who loves data and the power of data to tell stories, to:

  • Contribute to the design, development delivery and ongoing enhancement of an analytics framework
  • Combine, analyse and interpret data from multiple sources to reveal trends, patterns and insights
  • Draw sound inferences and specific challenges from available information into simple concise terms that others can understand
  • Communicate insights and findings in engaging and simple ways through presentations and visualisations
  • Work collaboratively to identify opportunities to influence change and contribute to the student experience at Deakin

To be successful, you will have:

  • A degree, preferably in a quantitative or analytical discipline, with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience.
  • Experience with large, complex datasets and great storytelling skills to communicate concepts and insights
  • Good relationship skills and the ability to work within a team as well as autonomously
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, share knowledge with team members and work in a collaborative environment
