The Student Emergency Fund was established to offer support to students who are studying at the University of Adelaide, who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship and who, without financial support, might not be able to continue their studies or complete their program.
To be eligible students must be:
- enrolled at the University (undertaking an undergraduate, Honours, Postgraduate Coursework or Postgraduate Research program)
- maintaining satisfactory academic progress
- able to demonstrate short-term financial need in either education or living expenses
- undertaking a minimum study load of 3 units per semester
Applications will be accepted at any time. Applications must be submitted to Student Care using the Student Emergency Fund application form and must include:
- a statement of no more than 300 words in length describing the applicant’s need for financial assistance and how the Fund will be used if successful
- the amount of the Fund being applied for (which will be subject to the merit of application and availability of funds)
- any other awards, scholarships or grants held or applied for by the applicant
- supporting documentary evidence of financial need e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits or other details of their financial circumstances.
