About This Opportunity
The purpose of this position is to increase accessibility to, and offering of enrichment opportunities and experiences to current UQ students – including exchange, short term study and internships – to enhance their employability in line with the UQ student employability framework.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing advice and guidance to students wishing to undertake enrichment
experiences while at UQ in relation to programs, eligibility, process and procedures;Developing and sustaining mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders including academic and professional staff across UQ as well as providers;
Liaising with internal stakeholders to progress student applications and ensure the seamless flow of services to students;
Coordinating internships, exchanges and short-term experiences for students as required, monitoring participation in these activities and reporting outcomes;
Maintaining data on relevant enterprise systems to ensure accurate information management regarding student engagement;
Maintaining and updating relevant websites to ensure information key to the
application and assessment process is accurate and consistent;Developing communications and content for newsletters and social media to increase awareness and assist with dissemination across the University;
Deliver information sessions and participate in promotional events on and off campus as required

About Student Enrichment and Employability Development (SEED)
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) (DVCA) is a member of The University’s senior executive and is responsible for the University’s commitment to providing high-quality teaching and learning and enhancing the UQ student experience.
The Student Affairs Division falls within the DVCA portfolio, which brings together central units that provide operational, corporate, and pastoral support for all aspects of the student lifecycle.
The Division is a key driver in enhancing the UQ student experience, and retention, success, and employability. It has two operational arms: the Student Services Directorate, and the Student Enrichment and Employability Development (SEED). The Division also manages the University’s day-to-day relationship with UQU, and student accommodation providers, and works with UQ Health Care to ensure medical service provision for students.
SEED is custodian of the Employability Award and coordinates and promotes a wide range of activities across UQ that empower students to enhance their employability including: global mobility; entrepreneurship and innovation; volunteering and mentoring; undergraduate research experiences; and leadership development opportunities.
SEED enhances student employability through a focus on experiential learning, ensuring that students are able to capitalise on the benefits of the University’s diversity, research reputation and capacity, international partnerships, and strong links with industry and the professions. SEED also provides financial supports to enable students to access experiences, as well as supports to translate, articulate, and transfer these experiences into the workplace.
Working across the UQ Community to drive strategies to strengthen the quality of the overall student experience, facilitating access to experiences that assist students to reflect UQ graduate attributes and enhance their employability
About You
Completion of an undergraduate degree, with at least two years of experience in a relevant area or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Ability to establish collaborative working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including students, academics and professional staff across UQ as well as providers and institutional partners.
Demonstrated effectiveness in providing customer focused service delivery and maintaining a consistent and reliable level of support.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills, including the ability to compile data, write reports, and engage a variety of audiences.
High level of computer literacy, including ability to use databases and online tools, develop social media, and edit websites.
A proven ability to be highly organised and self-managing, including a demonstrated capacity to establish work priorities, meet timelines, work independently as well as part of a team.
Desirable
Knowledge of issues related to the student experience, internships and global experiences, and employability within higher education nationally and internationally.
What We Can Offer
This is a Full-time Continuing position at HEW 6.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $82,399.95 to $88,503.79 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $96,407.94 to $103,549.43 per annum.
