SSCI Phd Scholarship: Multi-omics study of Western Australian Extremophilic Microorganisms

This PhD project will use a multi-omics approach to investigate native microorganisms from extreme environments for their applicability in environmental and industrial settings. The outcomes of the project will provide guidance for the development of innovative and ecofriendly biotechnological solutions to a range of existing ecological and commercial issues. The successful PhD candidate will work in a collaborative team with Edith Cowan University, Curtin University and the Fundacion Ciencia y Vida (Chile). The position is based at ECU, Joondalup and the research will be conducted primarily at the state-of-the-art Microbial Ecology laboratory at the School of Science. This PhD scholarship includes a stipend of $33,000 per annum for the awardee.
