About Research Grants and Contracts (RGC):

RGC plays a crucial role in UNSW’s research performance, RGC supports UNSW researchers in the development, preparation and submission of research grant applications and oversees negotiation and administration of research awards, contracts and consulting research. The RGC is the key link between UNSW’s researchers, executive and funding agencies such as the NHMRC, ARC, philanthropic grant funders and industry partners.

Your Role:

As the Senior Manager, Pre-Award, you’ll lead by example and collaborate closely with colleagues across Research Analysis, Data and Reporting, Research Strategy Office, and Research Grants & Contracts teams. Your hands-on approach will involve actively participating in daily tasks while managing the team. You’ll contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and operational protocols.

What You’ll Do:

Deliver Excellence: Ensure high-quality customer services in competitive grant and tender applications.

Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to enhance research processes and drive innovation.

Team Leadership: Manage a team of four direct reports and temporary project officers during critical application periods.

Operational Efficiency: Develop and refine processes to streamline operations and improve service quality
