Science and Agribusiness Connect Scholarship

The Science and Agribusiness Connect Scholarships established in 2017 with the aim to build the capability of the agriculture science sector in Western Australia (WA); to improve agriculture practices in WA; and to develop WA's research excellence in agriculture science. The scholarships are available to award to a student who is intending to enrol in an Honours course within the College of Science Health Engineering and Education with a research project focusing on the agricultural sector and fieldwork undertaken in a rural location.

The Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis, both in terms of your academic achievement and also on the basis of your application.

Eligibility

To apply for this scholarship you must: 

  • intend to enrol full-time in a Bachelor of Science (honours) 
  • undertake a research project with a regional focus in the areas of agriculture, agribusiness or animal science;
  • have a record of high achievement in previous studies or professional work; and
  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Required Documents

This scholarship requires you to provide the following documents: 

  • completed application form  
  • a summary (no more than two A4 pages) of your intended honours project including details of the location of rural fieldwork and name of the agribusiness partner 
  • written confirmation from your proposed honours supervisor confirming supervision of your project 
  • a personal statement of no more than two A4 pages 
  • a written reference from a person qualified to comment on either your academic studies or current or past employment.

Payment Method
  • $2,500 in week 7 - 9 of Semester 1, 2023
  • $2,500 upon the successful submission, and grading of your honours thesis.
  • $5,000 Project Operating Funds
